Sports and Socials
An hour in the late afternoon is devoted every school working day (and sometimes when preparing for major events on Saturdays) to Sporting activities. The school organises football and athletic competitions and partakes in local, state, zonal and national schools events. Many laurels have been won in athletics and football.
Students are allowed to belong to any of the various debates, current affairs, historical and music and dance clubs and societies in the school that meaningfully engage them in extracurricular activities.
Offa Grammar School (OGS for short), the oldest Community Secondary School in the old Northern Region of Nigeria, was founded in 1943 and is a government grant-aided School. It started as a boys-only school, but has since 1961 turned co-educational (mixed). Although it is a community school, it has from inception had an open access admission policy.
The school is in part residential and there are excellent boarding and municipal facilities in a healthy environment for the boys and girls.
